External Pavements can be the most heavily loaded slabs on a site. The spacing, stacking and handling of containers can impose significant loads. Particularly with containers damage to joints can be severe.Water can penetrate joints leading to degradation of the pavement. External slabs can require a lot of maintenance if the use is not carefully considered during the pavement design.
